This client is a premier manufacturer of automotive interior systems, which include seat, door trim, headliner, substrate, and carpet in addition to air and oil filters for a variety of customers such as Toyota Motor Corporation and General Motors.

Job Description

• This position requires previous experience in the Kaizen, continuous improvement and lean manufacturing processes.
• Must have a clear understanding of the TPS philosophy and problem solving techniques.
• Can demonstrate understanding of Standard Work, kanban and 5S.
• This person must be a team player and a goal oriented achiever capable of assisting in a fast paced, work environment.
• Experience and accuracy with precision measuring instruments is a must.
• Qualified applicants will have good communications skills (both written and verbal) and effective interpersonal skills.
• This person must have a basic mathematical aptitude.
• Computer experience, specifically: Office 2010 software (Excel, Word, etc.) would be a plus.
• Fabrication and hand tool experience highly desired.
• This person must be able to work with a minimum of direct supervision.
• Successful candidates must be willing and able to work overtime, including weekends with minimum notice and flexible hours

Qualifications

• Education:
• - High school diploma or GED required.
• Language Skills:
• - Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Computer/Software:
• - Solid working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office
• Work Environment/Conditions:
• Office: Open Office Environment, moderate noise level.
• Plant: Standard automotive plant environment with moderate noise level. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hearing protection, etc. may be required in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial areas. Personal attire standards may apply.
• Travel: 10%
• Physical Demands: Ability to sit and work on a computer for extensive periods of time is required. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, see, and hear. The team member must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time. May be occasionally required to lift up to 30 pounds.
