Job Summary

Job Description

  • - Responsible for equipment supplier development, including but not limited to supplier sourcing, vetting, and price negotiations.
  • - Developing procurement plans, organizing procurement and following up on manufacturing lead times.
  • - Responsible for the standardization of equipment, supply chain layout optimization.
  • - Responsible for the development and implementation of equipment procurement strategies.
  • - Responsible for procurement contract and order processing.
  • - Coordinates activities with other departments to assure proper delivery, quality, reliability, and low cost consistency.
  • - Documents and maintains necessary records and files. May work with agents and customs brokers for overseas material buying.
  • - Prepares weekly/monthly reports including the performance, inventory, and issues of each group of the purchasing team and reports them to the CEO and CPO.
  • - Communicate with Samsung SDI/STLA headquarters and related departments of SPE and respond to requested data.
  • - Works with necessary departments to minimize costs and maximize efficiency of purchasing function.
  • - Studies market trends and systems technology related to job.
  • - Timely execution of processing approved purchase requests into purchase orders and transmitting purchase orders to suppliers.
  • - Resolve discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders when needed.
  • - Maintain Supplier Performance Rating System in MRP system. Process scorecard on a monthly basis and input feedback from quarterly commodity strategy meetings.

  • - Strong knowledge of and experience working with state/local regulations and requirements
  • -Strong presentation skills to clearly articulate: business problems, analytical approaches, potential solutions & recommendations

  • - High level of written and verbal communication
  • - Self-motivated: energetic, enjoys working at quick pace

Qualifications

  • - Bachelor’s degree in Business, or equivalent.
  • - Prefer Bilingual English / Korean
  • - Experience in buyer or procurement role; preferably within the defense industry
  • - Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills
  • - Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various level of employees within all areas of the organization including hourly employees to Senior Leadership
  • - Ability to build effective cross functional relationships internally and externally
  • - Demonstrated technical problem-solving ability
  • - Goal oriented self-starter with ability to lead teams
  • - Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • - Ability to work overtime as required
  • - Strict adherence to safety standards
  • Preferred Job Requirements
  • - Extensive knowledge in Data Analytics utilizing MS Excel, MS Access or other database applications
  • - Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, presentation
  • - Critical thinking and an analytical mindset
  • - Demonstrated teamwork and effectiveness in accomplishing goal
