Our client is a premier sportswear company with a rich history dating back over 50 years.

Job Summary

We are seeking an Accountant to add to our organization. Our company is looking for applicants with a career spanning more than 3 years but less than 8 years. This brand is experiencing rapid growth and the ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the finance and accounting team with financial reporting, analysis and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. You will also provide guidance for our overall business objectives, strategy, and success. This candidate will be entrepreneurial, flexible, and willing to roll up their sleeves as the company expands into exciting new channels. This role is full time on site in New York City.

Job Description

• Responsibilities:
• ? Prepare various monthly financial statements and analytical reports.
• ? Assist in month-end close preparation.
• ? Perform variance analyses and prepare monthly account reconciliations.
• ? Assist policy set up and credit line set up
• ? Set up client credit and managing
• ? Invoice Processing and Payment tracking - Monitor customer accounts for non-payment and delayed payment, Post and allocate daily receipts to appropriate accounts.
• ? Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
• ? Review AR aging to follow up on overdue accounts.
• ? Communicate with customers
• ? Work with the sales and customer service departments to resolve billing issues.
• ? Review and interpret financial reporting requirements, rules and regulations.
• ? Participate in enhancing efficiency of projects, budgeting, and business processes with senior Accounting staff.
• ? Respond to inquiries from and prepare periodic reports for senior management.
• ? Ensure appropriate analyses are timely and accurate.

Qualifications

• Requirements:
• ? Bachelor’s Degree with concentration in Accounting or Finance.
• ? Minimum of three years’ experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable or general accounting.
• ? Experienced in accounting fashion business and retail operations.
• ? General understanding of accounting processes and functions.
• ? Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
• ? Strong analytical and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize work and meet multiple deadlines timely and accurately in a fast pace working environment.
• ? Candidate should have the desire and ability to work as a team player, complete work with accuracy and speed and strive for professional growth within the department and company.
• ? Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• ? Experience working with sophisticated accounting software
