Job Summary

The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for applying generally accepted accounting principles and procedures to prepare accurate and timely financial entries, analyze financial information, and prepare timely financial statements and reports for the company.

Job Description

  • - Perform and review monthly close process to ensure books and records are accurately stated and all close procedures are completed.
  • - Assists with compiling and preparing analysis, schedules, and financial statements for internal purposes and financial audits.
  • - Prepare monthly inventory reports for HQ and management.
  • - Maintain the fixed asset and associated depreciation schedules, provide monthly detail by Business unit.
  • - Assists in preparing all financial, tax audits and quarterly review by internal and external auditors.
  • - Establishes and maintains productive relationships with key resources including managers, employees and external payers.
  • - Provide direction and support for the accounting team and monitor operation expenditures.
  • - Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements
  • - Monitor and filing of regulatory reports with the appropriate agencies (sales and local taxes, etc.)
  • - Prepare ad-hoc reports and requests as needed

Additional Required Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrate broad business and accounting knowledge; describe generally accepted accounting practice (GAAP) and IFRS.
  • Demonstrated success in managing and providing hands on support for all accounting functions including accounts payable fixed assets, general business tax requirements and reconciliations.
  • Demonstrated advanced proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, graphs and database software.
  • Ability to distinguish between “big picture” concepts and comments and specialized, smaller specific facts associated with work; note the specifics of events and experiences; explain, in general, how details impact end goals or outcomes; ensure that work is completed accurately and with the appropriate level of detail
  • Demonstrates an understanding of basic financial concepts such as cash flows, operating profit/loss, and net income; conduct financial analysis
  • Addresses and resolves issues impacting information systems reporting; look for ways to minimize close time and improve close process

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, or closely related discipline, required.
  • Bilingual Fluency in Korean is required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of general ledger experience in a corporate accounting function preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS
  • Very strong analytical Skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, v-lookups, etc….)
  • Highly detail oriented and organized in work
  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
  • Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
  • Ability to record, prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations required.
  • Must have experience using Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards or related enterprise system in a professional capacity.
  • Ability to help process and lead the month-end close process strongly preferred.
  • CPA designation preferred.
