Position: Permit Manager

The Permit Manager is responsible for supervising, coordinating and managing all operations and permit/plan activity assigned to the permitting group. Duties also include applying for permits with the respective municipalities, compiling, updating and maintaining reports for representing SK E&C BETEK and its clients with engaging with local permitting authorities. The Permit Manager provides information regarding compliance to plans and specifications submittals with associated regulatory authorities. The Permit Manager supports Engineers, Architects and/or Construction professionals in performing key job elements. The Permit Manager demonstrates excellent organizational, multi-tasking and communication skills in all areas.

What we expect from you
- Assign permitting activities to self
- Monitor progression of permitting activities and reporting based on progression towards established project milestones
- Obtain documents from engineers and architects to facilitate the permit application process
- Obtain all required approvals for permits, participate in a hearing and acts as liaison between the company and each municipality
- Prepare and submit applications to various agencies/boards having jurisdiction over required permits and/or approvals
- Review plans for correct revision dates and review start packages for accuracy
- Prepare check requests and process invoice payment documentation in coordination with the accounting department
- Coordinate paperwork and applications with outside consultants as necessary
- Submit, distribute and file paperwork and enter data for various permits such as building, design review, standard plan, plan changes, minor permit adjustment and amendment permits
- Maintain all company files relating to site plan applications, approvals, licenses and permits
- Work closely with the municipalities on the status of permits and ensure they are processed in a timely manner
- Produce and maintain schedules for all communities and coordinate with municipalities from approval to final stages of permitting process
- Prepare and maintain production status reports
- Schedule, attend and coordinate meetings, appointments, etc., with architects, engineers, city officials and project team
- Prepare start packages, plans, specifications, or documentation for Construction Managers for new communities
- Monitor and create reports, correspondence and narratives utilizing spreadsheets and word documents
- Work with local governments/jurisdictions to submit and track construction drawings and permit applications packages.

Skills / Qualifications / Personal Attributes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a construction or business-related field from an accredited college or university is highly preferred.
- Valid Driver's License with good driving record.

Knowledge, skills, and experience:
- A minimum of 8 years related experience in the fuel cell construction industry
- Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize and take initiative
- Must have a basic understanding of design plan sets
- Must be able to read construction drawings
- Detail-oriented team player comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with heavy volume workload.
- Excellent follow-up, communication (written and verbal) and time management skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills; Detail-oriented team player; comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a large volume
- Able to professionally perform multiple detail-oriented tasks with simultaneous deadlines.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Be self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks daily
- Excellent time manager with superb follow-up skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and concisely both verbally and in writing
- MS Office 365, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook etc.
