Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Planner to join our team. Under the general direction of the Production Planning Manager, this role is responsible for planning and scheduling work centers to ensure timely and efficient production. The ideal candidate will coordinate production loads based on customer orders and plant reorder reports, considering machine capabilities and capacity, while collaborating closely with shipping and manufacturing teams.

Job Description

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Under the general direction of the Production Planning Manager, this role is responsible for planning and scheduling work centers to ensure timely and efficient production
  • The ideal candidate will coordinate production loads based on customer orders and plant reorder reports, considering machine capabilities and capacity, while collaborating closely with shipping and manufacturing teams
  • Develop and manage production schedules to ensure 100% on-time delivery of customer orders
  • Analyze sales order releases for capacity planning and material requirements
  • Input shipping information and delivery dates accurately
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, purchasing, and shipping departments to resolve planning issues
  • Communicate production progress to support departments and management
  • Identify and solve production-related problems using Lean and continuous improvement methods
  • Prepare and maintain production reports and daily schedules
  • Team Contribution: Active participation in team efforts to achieve goals

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • - Strong mathematical and statistical skills.
  • - Experience in production planning or scheduling preferred.
  • - Understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) is a plus.
  • - Proven proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, Oracle, or JD Edwards is essential.
  • - Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
  • - Bachelor's degree preferred. Stem major a plus.
  • - Minimum 2 years' work experience in scheduling and inventory control in a manufacturing environment.
  • APIC Certification a plus
